Chelveston  R. A. F. station, and U. S. A. F. base.

YEP!  YEP!..... Here is that famous main gate.....

Originally an R. A. F station, during world war 2...
Most of the girls in the photo's on this site... married  U.S.A. F. and Army chaps
who were stationed here in the 50s and 60s...
I know a few of you have memories of it before then..1930s and 40s...
It's no longer in use...   but I hope people who visit this site,
will remember "happy times" they spent there... and maybe...
some of you  have an old photo shoved away somewhere that you could share with us all....

You will note local "Brit" [also glider pilot below..] moving sheep to another field...
I was in the car at rear, jumped out and ran forward to take this shot...
There were about 30+ sheep in the herd....Brit was very unconcerned..
just walked along....sheep dog was wonderful and in full control of everything.....
