Does anyone know if Capt. Doug Harvey, who served at Chelveston
from 1960 on, is still alive? Did anyone on this forum know him? I have an
unidentified photograph taken in 1960/61 of a USAF stock-car racer,
who a couple of veteran fans think is Doug Harvey. I can put a link here: http://www.oldstox.com/images/scan0004.jpg Doug harvey also did
some drag-racing in England in the mid-sixties, and may have
had other postings in the UK after Chelveston. I run a history
website on British stock car racing, which includes several photos
and stories of Alconbury and Chelveston drivers: www.oldstox.com.
I would very much appreciate help or suggestions on how to find
Doug Harvey or someone who knew him.

B17's in particular the
Bonnie Girl #34..
There was a mid - air crash,
co - pilot killed, pilot
injured..
flown back to Kimbolton by
the flight engineer..

The nose had been hit and
the engineers could not
believe they even made it
back..

which was in operation
during World War 2...
I discovered a short while
ago..
that my biological
father was an airman serving
with the RAF in 1941...
Any information you are able
to supply regarding the name
of the base..
and it's purpose would be of

WW2 my late step father

His job was to scrap out the

runways...
The places he was at were as

group of airman were playing

and there was a very large
pile of money on the
ground..
when the station commander
came along.. the money very
soon disappeared...
